Part 2

Madame Turned around sharply, her expression was exited with anticipation as the door slowly opened, Michelle entered. She stood up bracing herself, and gazed at Michelle. Looking at each other.

“Michelle, Madame and your grandparents are staying at St. Valarie the coastal town nearby for a vacation. This is Madame de la Ville de Nice, their daughter in law. She has been donating money to the church to provide for your necessities.” Said Mother Superior.

Michelle approached Madame de la Ville de Nice extended her arms and embraced as the French tradition.

"Madame, for God's sake please ask the grandparents of Michelle to see her again. So they can get to know their orphaned granddaughter has graduated and grown, "Mother Superior asked.

They drove by a beautiful beach as they were heading to the hotel where Michelle’s grandparents were staying.

Inside the mansion Michelle sat calmly waiting in the classic style hotel lobby, which is very beautiful. Michelle is thrilled, she even missed school today.

Talking to Kashfiya that’s waiting there beside her.

"I'm going to see my grandparents, Kashfi" Michelle said while hugging the pouch containing the things she wanted to present them.

“I bet they can’t believe that they have an 18 year old granddaughter,” said Kashfiya.

"I want to see them and I believe they feel the same. " Michelle said sounding cheerful.

"I see nothing useful."

"There may be more than this."

"Maybe they will take you to Paris. My family is there too."

"Yes, I took tmy medals and awards. I have to let them see it today."

Meanwhile the De la Roni family arrived to the guest room of the beautiful classical building.

"Where is she?" The voice of the grandmother.

"Tell me about it," the grandfather added.

Michelle rose and her grandparents turned towards her.  They just stood there studying her, while their daughter in law stood behind them.

Michelle hugged tightly to her chest the pocket rewards. Dry eyes of her grandparents made her waver and tremble.

"Hello Grandpa".

Her grandmother looked up with eyes so cold filled with indifference, not hatred or contempt. It is impervious to any emotions.

"Sophie, she went through a lot of trouble to take this child."

Michelle’s face turned pale.

"Sophie is out daughter in law, she does not know anything," the grandfather stared at Michelle. "I’ll tell her straight forward that it would be better for us that we do not have a grandchild. We will only permit you to use our last name as it is required by the law."

Michelle turned very pale.

"The De la Roni family never had mix breeds. We do not accept pagan blood in our family "Grandfather said.

"We donate to nurture a spirit of Jacques ... her father ... only" Grandmother Del la Roni added.

Her words made Michelle fall back 2 steps.

"We madxe it clear that we never wanted to meet you, "Grandpa said.

Michelle stared motionless tears moisten her eyes, trying to find word to say.

"Please, I'm sorry" Michelle said while nodding her head politely. Then turned back walking with regular steps, tears filling her face.

Madame de la Ville de Nice the daughter in law stepped forward with a very sullen expression."How can this be…….," she said.

"We have no choice," grandmother said.

Back to Church Michelle cried bitterly kneeling before the altar, Mother Superior walked quietly with Kashfiya, who went to fetch her.

Looking at the statue of the Virgin Mary. Her eyes filled with compassion. Michelle lowered her face.
Mother Superior, reached out to touch her shoulder. Michelle vividly looked up. She fell into Mother Superiors Embrace, who rubbed her back trying to comfort her.

"Michelle ... I was wrong."

Sometime later Michelle put back all her medal and trophies in its place in her bed room. Michelle looked at them with dark, sad eyes.

Kashfiya took the pouch from her "Keep it... do not show anyone. I saw that it was good anyway. "

Michelle wiped her eyes, "I’m all alone in the world."

"I knew she it was a bad idea to take you there. But you have other friends, Sister Ann, Sister Louise, Mother Superior, and me”

One day while they were exercising, playing basketball in the field. As the ball bounced out of the field, Michelle ran after it.

Mother Superior stopped it with her feet, bowed down to pick it up, then stretched out her arm.
"Mother," Michelle smiled brightly. So cute

“Michelle,” the Mother Superior's head gently nodded. She handed over the ball "Look at me I am giving the whole world to you."

Michelle had a puzzled expression then repeated "The whole world?"

"Yes," she put her hand on top of the ball "From Paris in The Sorbonne "

Michelle‘s face was full of bright light.

"I got the scholarship to study in Paris, right?" Michelle yelped with glee.
